How about those Thanksgiving day games huh? Could we have picked 3 worse games this week? I'm really glad I got to sit back and watch 3 games that were so close and not decided within the first 30 minutes. It's becoming ridiculous. I don't want to see Detroit on Thanksgiving anymore. And I don't want to see Dallas at home, beating up on a bottom-dweller. Either give me a better team to replace Detroit, or give me a better team to rival Dallas. Something needs to change. I am utterly disappointed.
Anyways, I correctly picked 2 of the 3 games on Thanksgiving. I picked Green Bay (-11) due to the fact that I thought Stafford and Johnson weren't going to play. They did, but they were both mediocre, so there you go. I also picked Dallas (-13.5) because Oakland, despite showing up for 1 or 2 home games a year, NEVER plays well on the road. Period. Unfortunately, I picked the Giants (-6.5) because I hate Josh Poopy Face McDaniels (who shall be henceforth known simply by his middle names) and I really didn't know if the Broncos were going to win another game this season. To my dismay, Poopy Face had his defense ready to play and they won easily. What are you gonna do?
Here are the remaining 13 games on the week 12 docket:
Indy (-3.5) over HOUSTON
Does it worry me that the Texans were a Kris Brown field goal away from taking the Colts into overtime? Not at all. You know why? Because Kris Brown is arguably the worst clutch kicker ever. Has he ever made a game winning/tying field goal in the 4th quarter? I know he's 0/2 this season. And just like Brown, I don't trust the Texans, at all. I think they are done.
CLEVELAND (+13.5) over Cincy
The Browns scored 37 points last week, and even though they played Detroit, we know they at least have the physical ability to score. Cincinnati has only won 1 game by more than 10 points, and the last time they played the Browns (in Cincinnati, by the way), they needed 74 minutes and 53 seconds to beat them by just 3 points. The line is just too high.
MINNESOTA (-11) over Chicago
I will continue to pick the Vikings until they provide me with a reason not to.
Washington (+9) over PHILLY
Ballsy Pick of the Week. I think the Redskins are underrated, and I think the Eagles are overrated. It's simple mathematics. I would not be surprised to see the Redskins win this game outright. I just don't think the Eagles are as good as we want to believe.
Miami (-3) over BUFFALO
I feel like the weather in Buffalo is not going to affect the Dolphins like it does other warm-weather teams. The Dolphins don't need to pass the ball. They are probably the team that relies on it the least in the NFL. I also feel like there are very few teams that the Bills could beat right now... Maybe I could name 3, but that's a HUGE maybe.
TENNESSEE (-2.5) over Arizona
I'm liking what I'm seeing from Tennessee. I am completely terrified of Chris Johnson. I would rather see anyone else against my team. ANYONE. I would even rather see Adrian Peterson right now, the guy who put up 296 rushing yards against us. That's how much I fear Chris Johnson. Also, Kurt Warner has a concussion, which is very very bad for Arizona.
ST. LOUIS (+4) over Seattle
I like the Rams, ok? I have a man crush on Steven Jackson. He is going to single-handedly win this game. Just watch.
Tampa Bay (+12) over ATLANTA
I don't remember if I have officially jumped off the Falcons bandwagon... But if I haven't, I am doing so now.
Carolina (+3) over NYJ
I refuse to recognize this as a real NFL game. I won't do it. You can't make me.
Jacksonville (+3) over SF
The flipping Jacksonville Jaguars are going to be 7-4 after this week. I still don't understand how they got to this point. It doesn't add up. Where did they find the time to accumulate 6 wins in between all that mediocrity?
SAN DIEGO (-13.5) over Kansas City
The Chargers have now won 5 straight games and it would be considered base treachery if I decided to turn on them now. Do I really think they will cover in this game? I'm not sure. But I'm not going to pick against them.
Pittsburgh @ BALTIMORE does not yet have a line, which is weird because the game is happening TOMORROW. And I refuse to pick in any capacity until one has been established. I'll probably post it before game time tomorrow (5:30).
NEW ORLEANS (-2) over New England
They should have scheduled this game for the NFL Network Thanksgiving game. Holy hell, can you imagine how many more people would have watched it than the Broncos-Giants? Can you imagine how many people would have gone somewhere that has NFL Network to watch it? Can you imagine how many people would have PURCHASED something that carries NFL Network? This would have been great for them. I really want to see the NFL Network do well, because I love football (and Rich Eisen), but they have to start pulling these big name games. And don't worry, this game is going to be awesome. I give the edge to the Saints because they are at home, and if you have ever watched a Saints game, you know how much that team means to its fans. It's ridiculous. It's like Mardi Gras every week.
